  1. nice man, you ever try painting it all a solid color , then come back with trim dynamic set on rgb on low opacity? you can get some really nice dry brush effects with it.

  2. Like the texture of the skin. Some of the spikes on the back need more love, but I'm not sure if you've gone that far yet in the sketch, so let's just wait and see how it turns out =p

  3. Im digging the extra spikes and I think what Kay is talking about is the base of them. but im comparing the first one to this one and Im really diggin the changes. The reason I brought up the dry brush thing is it really works well when something has a lot of sculptural detail in it.

  4. Jim, so you are saying to fill the object one solid color and use the trim dynamic brush to paint in details with Zadd/Zsub off??? RGB only??? Will try it... Sounds like i can get some cool textures out of it.

Kay, thanks. The spikes i pulled out at the last minute and started to burn out a bit. I plan on digging in around the spikes with the Dam_Standard brush then puff up the skin around the base of each one. After that i use the the Trim Dynamic brush along the length of each spike towards the tip to get a kinda rough sharpened look. When I use the Trim Dynamic brush it reminds me of sharpening a pencil with blade.
